Holiday Mass – Saturday, December 1

This year’s holiday Mass coincided with the 150th Wilmington Diocese bi-centennial celebration and was, accordingly, celebrated early in the month of December on Saturday, December 1st. The chapel was opened at 9:30 AM. A power-point “tour” presentation began at 10 AM. This presentation highlighted the historical background of the chapel. The Reverend Jay McKee celebrated Mass at 11 AM. Refreshments, which will included hot chocolate, served after Mass. As in years past, two Rita Lerch hand-made quilts will be on display, and raffle tickets for the quilts were on sale. Also available at the chapel on this day was several items commemorating the chapel’s upcoming 200th anniversary celebration. Included among these was: Chapel history book authored by Erica Quesenbery Special coffee mug with chapel sketch by Chris White Christmas tree ornament featuring chapel picture Several pamphlets featuring history of the chapel Individuals participating in the Diocese of Wilmington’s 150th Anniversary Historic Church Pilgrimage were able to have their passports stamped by the guide at the chapel. If you have any questions regarding this event, or need information on locating the chapel, please do not hesitate to contact Bill Paré at (410) 658-4378
